Pure Gratitude by Meditation Teacher Training student Yuka Saijo
Coming upon The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success while on a walk
After completing the first day of The Path’s Meditation Teacher Training, my heart was full. It felt almost unreal, as if I were witnessing a dream unfolding. Carried by that heightened emotion, I took my dogs out for a walk. With each step, waves of joy and gratitude rose within me — the joy of finally discovering what I truly want to do, and the deep desire to keep learning. At that very moment, I happened to glance down and saw a book lying on the ground. Normally, I would have walked right past it, but the title caught my eye — The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra. I picked it up and the first page opened was: “The Law of Dharma.” I was speechless — all I could feel was pure gratitude.
I’m so excited about Day 2!
Thank you for your amazing, positive energy!
// And note from Meditation Teacher Training Lead Teacher Dina Kaplan — This is an INCREDIBLE story, because after my first Vipassana retreat, I decided to meditate for a few hours each morning. And then I would read dharma by Goenka, my Vipassana teacher, who is trained in the mindfulness techniques of the Buddha, and seek to connect dots between his wisdom and more modern takes on meditation. This exact book, the Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, was the first modern book I read on this new path. Deepak’s chapter about giving up judgement — ended up leading me to my first-ever dot of enlightenment. And so I will share – that this book changed my life and opened my heart and mind to new ways of living. I love that you found this book, Yuka, just after Class 1 - it is really a huge WOW!
